Obituary

Our beloved mother, Billie Faye Everett, passed away on December 30, 2024, at 3:00 PM after a long illness at the age of 91.  Faye was born in Marthaville, Louisiana on April 6, 1933, to Ethel and Fred Green.  At the age of 14, she met her soulmate, John William Everett (deceased), and was married for 57 years to John, who preceded her in death.  They had six children, Mary Beth Lewis, Rosia Yvonne Van Zyl, John William (Christy) Everett, Jr., Robin Lynn (deceased) (Jason) Weimer, Michael Surgeon (Andrea) Everett, and Rumney Charles Everett.

Faye also had two brothers, Fred Green (deceased), and Willie Newton Green (deceased), and a half sister, Pearl Brown (deceased).  She has a foster brother, Charlie Williams.
;
Faye was a wife, homemaker, Mama, grandmother (Nanny & Nana) to her children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she dearly loved.  Faye was a devoted Christian and was a blessing to many families and friends.  She was always reading her Bible and watching sermons on tv.  Our family had a family Baptism at Calvary Baptist Church long ago.  At one point in her life, she worked at a TG&Y store in Shreveport, then a beautician at Ethel Smiths Beauty Salon.  Faye had a love for fixing hair and also sewing clothes for school for her children.

Faye's favorite scripture was Psalms 91:4 "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings, you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart."  Her favorite song was "Cheer Up my Brother!"

She was the heart of our family, and she will be dearly missed.  We are at peace knowing she is now with our Lord and Savior, Daddy, Lynn, and other family members.

At Faye's request, there will only be a Memorial Service at Aulds Funeral Home on January 25, 2025, at 3:00PM at 7849 E. Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA.

Lord, You created us for a better place.

We rejoice when our loved ones

have made their way to You--

to wholeness and perfect peace--

while we mourn the loss

of their departure from us.

Thank You that one day,

we will experience

a joyful reunion

forever in Your presence.

Amen

Weeping may last through the night,
but joy comes with the morning.
