The funeral service for Betty DuBois Collins will be held Saturday, March 20, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church at 129 Second Street in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The Church will open at 9 a.m. for visitation. Her final resting place will be Saint Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in the Trichell Community.
Betty, 76 years of age, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021. She was born June 9, 1944, to Lillie DuBois and cared for by Leo Dubois following Lillie's death in 1950.
Betty graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1962. She retired after twenty-five years of service with the Natchitoches Parish School System.
She enjoyed cooking large meals and visiting with friends and family, and even strangers while shopping. She could talk to anyone, and they always welcomed her positive and joyful demeanor. She loved children and animals, including her furbabies, Kaycee, Minime, Sammy, and Lucky.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Gary Collins of Natchitoches; sons, Cory LaCaze and his wife Amber of Natchitoches, Tray LaCaze and his wife Lynn of Dallas, Texas, David Collins of Kingwood, Texas; daughter, Jill Richards and her husband, David of Sulfur. She was blessed with eight grandchildren; Lane Collins, Logan Williams, Garrett Luke Williams, Levi Joe Hagan, Cole Collins, Christian Collins, Chase Collins, Connor Collins, and four great-grandchildren; Alyana Collins, Benjamin (Ben) Collins, Roman Collins, Case Asher Collins, and Charlie Kay Collins, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many close friends.
She was Aunt Betty to many not related by blood but loved as if they were. She will be dearly missed.
