Rebecca "Becky" Phipps 1952-2022

Rebecca Ann Phipps, age 69, passed away today after a brief battle with bladder cancer. Our hearts are broken as we mourn the loss of our beloved Sister, Niece and Cousin. It comforts us to know that Becky is no longer in pain and is with Momma and Daddy once again to rejoice in everlasting life.

Becky lived a good life, Born in Chicago, Ill. and raised in Atlanta, La. graduating Valedictorian of her class, She went on to College at Northeastern University in Monroe, La. receiving her degree in Nursing. A resident of Shreveport,La. she also spent time in Southeast Texas and in Dallas during her nursing career. Becky loved the Lord and was a faithful member of her Church. She enjoyed many hobbies including needle point with her friends in Shreveport, painting, reading, cooking, gardening, watching the Dallas Cowboys and her Bible study group. She had a kind loving heart and an easygoing personality that endeared her to everyone who came in contact with her. She will be sorely missed.

Becky is preceded in death by her Parents, Robert Phipps and Beverly Phipps, of Bon Wier, Texas. She is survived by her brothers Michael of Colorado and Kenny of San Antonio,Texas. Aunts: Rita Lord of Jasper,Tx., Donna Spillers of Dallas,Tx. Uncles; Dr. William P. Spillers of Shreveport & Alan Spillers of Dallas, Niece Sarah Halbert (Phipps) of Schertz, Texas, Nephews Nathan Phipps of San Antonio, Texas, Lee Holbrook and Caleb Phipps of Woodville,Texas and numerous cousins.

Our family would like to thank all the medical professionals who cared for Becky over the past several months. Special thanks go out to both Garden Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Christus Hospice of Shreveport who cared for her at her most vulnerable and supported the family as they let her go. To our Uncle, Dr. William P. Spillers of Shreveport, La. for visiting with Becky every day, comforting her, praying with her, just being there for her, it had a huge impact on her mental well being and we are in your debt. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18)

A Special thank you to Becky's friend Denise for being there for her till the end doing all the little things and errands for Becky. our heartfelt thanks to you always Denise. As the saying goes, A friend in need is a friend in deed.

There will be a private service for family and friends who wish to attend at an as yet to be determined date at Ford Cemetery in Bon Wier, Texas.
