Beatrice "Bea" Mattingly Malarcher peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022.  Mrs. Malarcher was born in New Orleans to Joseph Ores Mattingly and Letitia LaBordes Mattingly on August 15, 1925.  Due to Covid-19 remembrances will be held privately.  She was laid to rest in Forest Park East Cemetery in Shreveport next to her beloved husband of 45 years.

Bea attended Mount Saint Mary's Academy boarding school in Little Rock Arkansas.  She graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a degree in Music, Education and Sociology where she was a member of Pi Beta sorority.   She started the Phi Beta sorority for Centenary College in Shreveport.  Bea was active with the Shreveport Sympathy, on the Van Cliburn Board of Directors, started several art programs at different schools around Shreveport. Music was her passion and was active with several well known preforming artist.

She loved to play her piano and harp.  Her children grew up with hearing their mother practice her piano for a few hours most nights around 2 o'clock in the morning.  She would always say with 3 little ones it was the only time she had to herself to enjoy her music.

Bea had a deep conviction and love of God, love of family and the genuine friendships she had in life.

Bea is preceded in death by her husband Donald Godbery Malarcher Sr, her son Donald G. Malarcher Jr., her brother Daniel "Dan" C. Mattingly Sr. of Kenner.  She is survived by her daughter Mary Elizabeth Malarcher of Biloxi, a son Mike Malarcher of Texas, 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

A sincere appreciation for all of the individuals who gave excellent care for Mrs. Malarcher at Spring Lake Rehabilitation in Shreveport.  A special thanks to Ashley Edwards at Spring Lake who made sure she received the best of everything.
