Shreveport, LA - Barbara "Janie" Needham Holt, 69, passed away peacefully after complications from a brain tumor on June 24, 2015. Janie was born February 13, 1946 to parents Roy and Elsie Needham. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Jim Holt, daughter Ashley Dean Davis, grandchildren Gavin, Stella and Presley, her brother James Needham and wife Barbara, brothers-in-law Ben Belk, David Holt and wife Kay and numerous nieces and nephews. Janie was preceded by her parents Roy and Elsie (Kennedy) Needham, and her older sister Lillian Belk Janie graduated in 1964 from C.E. Byrd High School and went on to get her degree from Northwestern State University. She was a dedicated adolescent social worker for Brentwood Hospital for 28 years until retiring to spend more time with her husband and family. Janie was full of life and spent her time taking care of her grandchildren, who lovingly knew her as "Gram"; she was actively involved with Broadmoor Methodist Church; loved her family and girlfriend time; and was a devoted wife to an amazing husband, Jim. She leaves behind many wonderful friends and touched so many throughout her beautiful life. A Memorial Service will be held at eleven o'clock in the morning on Saturday, June 27, 2015, with visitation prior to services from 9-11am at Broadmoor United Methodist Church, 3715 Youree Drive, Shreveport. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses that cared for Janie, and the wonderful friends and family that stayed with her, visited, called and prayed over her.
