We are here to honor the life of Barbara Jean Emerson, who gained her heavenly wings on January 22, 2025. She was born on July 28, 1952, to Curtis and Virginia Pickerel.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Philip E. Emerson; her parents, Curtis and Virginial Pickerel; her sister, Mary Ann Pickerel; her grandparents, her mother-in-law, father-in-law, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her sons, Curtis and his wife Tina, Wayne and his wife Christy, Dewayne and his wife Molly, James Emerson; her daughter Mary; brother, David Pickerel and his wife, Dawn; her sister-in-law, Betty Marie Wicker and her husband, Ron; five grandchildren, Briana, Billy, Hannah, Andrew, and Colby; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Barbara enjoyed her time watching WWE, western movies, and soap operas. She loved going fishing with her dad, husband, and kids. Her favorite places to eat were KFC and Southern Maid Donuts. She was a strong woman who will be missed by everyone who was lucky to know her.

The graveside memorial service will be held at Hickory Grove Baptist Cemetery in Coushatta, Louisiana on February 8, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. The address is Par Rd 135, Coushatta, LA, 71019.
