Arthur Lee Spells, age 73, of Rodessa, Louisiana, died Thursday morning, October 22, 2015 at his home. His battle with ALS came to an end peacefully. Born September14, 1942 in Moselle, Mississippi he was the son of late Jessie Spells and Ethel Mae Spells (Young). Arthur has always been a humble, loving, giving, and kind hearted spirit. He was the go-to person in the community if you needed help to get things done. It ranged from fixing waterlines to fixing cars to digging graves, or just help in general. He always gave what he had, be it time, money, or materials. He gave with a smile and never demanded anything in return. He is survived by his loving wife Elsie Spells, of forty-six years, along with two children, Claudia Spells of Rodessa, Louisiana and Jesse Spells with his wife Devon Spells of Texas City, Texas. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Tambria Little (Means), Talia Hill, Chenoa Hill, Charles Hill, Noah Simpson, Evan Spells, Emily Spells and honorary grandchild, Zamarion Bell, who was his shadow. He was blessed to see his first great grand, Princeton Little. He is also survived by many other loving nieces, nephew, and relatives whom he loved so much. A special thanks to a very dear friend Robbie Bell who gave as much love and support as she could. Also a special thanks to Leonard and Tabertha Ward for being a constant help and comfort at all times, day or night. Memorial services for Arthur Spells will be held at 11:00 am. Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from Aulds Funeral Home on 7849 East Kings highway Shreveport, Louisiana. The repass will be held at Arkadelphia Baptist church in Rodessa, Louisiana at 1:30pm., following the memorial.
