Obituary

Archie Lee Anderson, 83, passed away peacefully at home, April 2, 2024, after a long illness.  He was born in Shelbyville, Texas to Charlie and Bertie Bison Anderson, on May 15, 1940.

Archie grew up on the bank of the Sabine River.  He loved the water and fishing.  He spoke often of those days.  He also loved to hunt.  He especially enjoyed his hunting trips to Colorado with his family and friends.  He spent many hours in his vegetable garden.  He always planted extra so that he could give to others.  Archie enjoyed the simple things in life.  He was a quiet man and he met everyone with a smile.  He loved southern gospel music and went to hear the Southern Plainsmen as often as he could.

Archie was a pistolsmith by trade.  He started working for his uncle, Jim Clark, at Clark Custom Guns in January 1959 and retired in 2009.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Bertie Bison Anderson; and infant brother; a sister, Janie Anderson Elliot; and step-daughter, Sherri Shaw Vickes.

Left behind to treasure his memory is his blended family.  His wife, Gale; daughter, Karen Anderson Hearnsberger and husband Neil; Wade Shaw and wife, Melanie; Richard Shaw; grandchildren, Brittany Walker Tefteller and husband Trey, Cody Walker; Amber Ford, Tyler Vickers and wife Lani, Peyton Shaw; Austin Shaw, Raylyn Austin and husband Zac, Trevor Heyen and wife, Macy, and Annie Shaw; great grandchildren, Brailey, Treyden, Jayden, Lylah, Ava, Shelby, Tucker, Parker, Eleanor, Saleen, and Morris.  Sister, Janice Anderson Malmay and husband, Michael.  Nieces and nephews, Becky, Rodney, Randal, Jason, and Jami Lyn.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, on April 12, 2024, at Noble Baptist Church, 732 Rainbow Lane, Noble, Louisiana 71462.  Bro. Jimmy Price will officiate.
