Anthony Jerome Wilson, 65, died suddenly September 20, 2015 in Homer, LA while serving the Lord in the Kairos Prison Ministry at David Wade Correctional Center (DWCC). Jerome was born in Shreveport, LA, June 13, 1950, to Harold and Cherry Wilson, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, twin sons Dale and Shaun; siblings Cynthia Cordaro (Dominic), John Wilson (Kathy), Andrea Brown (Bobby), and Dr. Mark Wilson (Peggy); mother-in-law Lois Brunson; sister-in-law Susan Brunson; and brother-in-law Steve Brunson (Pat). He leaves 13 nieces and nephews and 11 great-nieces and nephews. He and Cindy were going to celebrate their 41st wedding anniversary October 26. Jerome graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree then earned a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve. He started his career as a juvenile probation parole officer then became a social worker for the State of Louisiana. He eventually became a counselor in private practice, focusing on court-ordered group therapy. Jerome was raised Roman Catholic and became an Episcopalian in 1979. Jerome served God for more than 20 years through Kairos Prison Ministry at Winn Correctional Center, DWCC, and Kairos Outside. As a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church's Matthew 25 Task Force, he helped feed the homeless weekly over the past 6 years. Jerome also served on one of St. Paul's cook teams for many years. He had an amazing memory, and few could best Jerome at Trivial Pursuit. He enjoyed taking Kairos photographs, movies, television, video editing, computers, cruises, and his pet Lab "Shyann". A memorial service for Jerome will be Friday September 25, 2015 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 275 Southfield Road, Shreveport, LA.
