Services celebrating the life of Anthony Michael Matranga, 86, will begin at 10:00 am  Saturday, June 18 at Auld's Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA.   Hospice Chaplain Steve Hall will be officiating the service.

Mr. Matranga was born November 21, 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He entered heaven Sunday, June 12 passing peacefully in his sleep. Anthony was a long time resident of Shreveport Louisiana and in the grocery business all of his life. He was a wonderful and devoted husband to his wife Dorothy who passed away in June 2005 and a loving father to his 3 children Mary Ann Matranga Dethlefsen, Michael Matranga and Patrick Matranga and his 3 grandchildren Lindsey Dethlefsen, Marisa Dethlefsen and Amanda Matranga.

He loved to fish and was very meticulous about his yard.  He was a huge family man and held the highest family values and loved every moment that he spent with his family.

Anthony was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy Matranga, parents Pete and Mary Matranga, brothers Roy, Joe & Pete Matranga.  Anthony is survived by his daughter Mary Ann Matranga Dethlefsen and sons Michael and Patrick Matranga, daughter-in-law Sandi Matranga, granddaughters Lindsey and Marisa Dethlefsen, Amanda Matranga and sister Frances Cush along with countless nieces and nephews.

Anthony will truly be missed by his family but know that he is happily dancing in heaven reunited with the love of his life…his wife Dorothy.
