Andrew (Andy) Sterling Plumlee, 63, he went peacefully from his earthly home to his heavenly home guided by angels on July 8, 2023. He was born on December 21, 1959 in Denton Texas, the son of Jerry E. and Rowena C (Spence) Plumlee.
He served in the U.S. Navy from 1978 until 1987. He started out in the nuclear program but ended his military career as a Religious Programmer. He was always proud of his service to his country. Andy became an ordained pastor and served as pastor and teacher in several small churches throughout his lifetime. Andy loved to serve in the church.
On August 3, 1985 he married Phyllis Melick who became his life-long partner and friend. In January of 2000 they adopted their son Ronnie. Ronnie was always Andy's pride and joy.
Andy valiantly fought cancer for 2 ½ years and was well loved by all those who provided medical care to him during this time. Andy's faith that God would heal him never wavered. His prayers for healing were granted when he touched the shores of Heaven.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his bride Phyllis Plumlee and son Ronnie Plumlee. His two siblings Lucinda Plumlee-Gadson and brother Neal. His loving niece Crystal who he called Mickey as a nickname for her middle name. Four beautiful grandchildren Aleesya, Drew, Ronnie Jr. and Tyler. Two Uncles and three Aunts with whom he was very close to.
A graveside service will be held at the Northwest Veteran's Cemetery on Monday July 17, 2023 at 1:30 p.m.
