Andrew D'Antoni, 48, devoted husband, friend, and family man passed away unexpectantly on Friday, January 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, father, Blaise Carmelo D'Antoni, Sr., mother, Margaret Jean Henderson, and brother, Kelly Clement D'Antoni. Andrew leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 9 years, Whitney Shelton D'Antoni, to whom he always said was "the best thing to ever happen to him." In his absence, he also leaves behind nieces Heigen Shelton and Hallie Shelton whom he loved as his own. Also grieving are brother Blaise D'Antoni, wife Aimee, brother Billy D'Antoni, wife Shannon, brother Chris D'Antoni, several nieces and nephews, and best friend, Brandon.
Many have described Andrew as a manly man who was gruff in tone but soft and nurturing in nature. He was a caretaker and profoundly devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His selfless and giving spirit is exemplified by his devotion to fostering teen children within the Louisiana Foster Care System. He took pride in each child who entered his home and strove to help prepare them for adulthood. He also mentored the parents to help them regain their footing.
Always wanting the best for anyone he cared for, be they family or friend, he was known for celebrating your success and, if needed, sitting alongside you during the lows. Andrew's upbringing and history taught him the importance of being present in the moment and not taking anything for granted.
A memorial for Andrew D'Antoni will be held this Saturday at 2:00 PM at Journey Church on Shreveport Barksdale Blvd. All are welcome to attend and to share fond memories.
In honor of Andrew, please consider making a donation to Compassion International, by sponsoring a child, or AA Central Office of Shreveport.
