Allen Prather Montgomery was born on September 2, 1939 in Chalybeate, MS to L.Z. Montgomery and Edna Prather. He went home to be with Jesus on February 24, 2023 after a seven year battle with Alzheimer's disease.

He is survived by his brothers David Furtick and Bob Montgomery.
Left to honor his memory is his loving wife Joyce, daughter Julie (Aaron) Aud, and grandchildren Noah, Ian, Aiden, and Hannah.
Allen spent most of his childhood in California, but graduated from Ramer High School in 1957. He received a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Mississippi State University and a bachelor's degree in Radiology from Northwestern State University. He retired as a Radiology technician from LifeCare Hospital in Shreveport.
Allen proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, was a Mason, and a Shriner. He cherished his Cherokee Indian heritage by collecting many artifacts of the tribe.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Shreveport, LA where he served many years as a Sunday School teacher and a Deacon.
He was passionate about his faith. He loved his family, the outdoors, all animals, and enjoyed getting lost in a good book. He never turned down a sweet treat and his favorite dessert was Blue Bell vanilla ice cream!
A private memorial service will be held in the near future.
