Obituary

ALFRED VERNON WEBSTER,JR.

Vernon was born on December 12, 1932 to Lucy Bunch and Alfred Vernon Webster, Sr. in Henderson, Kentucky. He met his Lord and Savior on January 31, 2026 after a brief illness. He married Betty Lou Robbins on March 20, 1953. They were married for 72 years. He recently said to her: "Its been a wonderful ride".

He was a man of few words unless you talked about fishing, motorcycles, antique cars, the Old West, Egypt, and all things extra-terrestrial. He had an uncanny interest and knowledge of these things.

He was a talented handy man. His daughters thought he could fix anything and he usually could. He used these talents many time in his service to the church. He was an active member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He served as a Deacon, Elder and faithful member of the Property Department. He attended elementary school in Henderson, Kentucky and was a 1951graduate of Fair Park High School.

He served his country in the U. S. Navy Reserve for five years. In his two active years, he served as a 3rd class Petty Officer on the USS LST 772 Ford County in the Pacific during the Korean/Vietnam era.

He was preceded in death, by his parents, his step-mother Agnes Hamby Webster, his great-grandchildren Joey and Katelynn and their dad Anthony Smith.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Lenora Lynn Davis (David), Karen Kim Frazer (Paul): four grandchildren, Cherie Addison (Jason), Candace McCoy (David). Cristen and Harlan Davis; seven great-grandchildren: Hunter and Logan Addison, Landry and Brewer McCoy, River and Lakelyn Nichols and Austin Rachel: his brother Don Webster and wife Nella, and many special nieces and nephews.
