Obituary

Alan "Teddy" Turman, beloved son, brother, father, friend, and lifelong menace, passed away on May 5,2025, at the age of 62. Teddy was full of life, laughter, and mischief, and leaves behind a legacy of joy and countless memories. He was cherished by all who knew him.

Born on February 23, 1963, Teddy had a natural gift for making friends wherever he went. Whether it was through his fantastic sense of humor, seemingly endless amount of jokes, or natural charisma, he was always the life of the party. While he was never one to shy away from hijinks, he was also an incredibly kind and giving person with a heart of gold.

Teddy had a deep love of sports. He was a passionate supporter of Shreveport Mudbugs hockey, owning season passes for many years, and even writing articles on the team and players that were published in newspapers and magazines. When it came to football, he always rooted for LSU. He spent many years as a football officiant for local middle and high school teams, even earning the nickname "100% Teddy," after being the only person to ace the exam his first year.

While Teddy loved the roar of a crowd and the thrill of the game, he also enjoyed fishing. Whether with his best friend or alone, Teddy could turn the quietest day on the lake into a good time. More than anything though, Teddy loved making people happy. To know Teddy was to laugh with him, even if the joke was on you. He had quick wit, outrageous stories, and a penchant for playing pranks. If he ever teased you, just know he loved you.

Teddy was cherished by all who knew him, not just for his sense of humor, but for his heart, his loyalty, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His legacy will live on in every inside joke, every retold story, and every burst of laughter that echoes at the dinner table.

He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Rosie Marie Turman. He is survived by his father, Charles Keith Turman, three daughters and sons-in-law, Samantha and Justin Baker, Ashley and Cody Williams, and Samantha and Jeremy Davis, 5 grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Emerson Bruhnke, McKenzie Davis, Cassidy Lucas, Harlow Baker, and Mylee Williams, three sisters, many nephews and nieces, and countless friends.

We'll be celebrating Teddy's life on May 17, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Please join us at 9735 Wallace Lake Road, Shreveport, 71106.
