ALAN AUBREY MCILWAIN
Alan Aubrey McIlwain, of Blanchard, Louisiana, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 38 on Friday, January 6, 2023. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. Alan was born on April 11, 1984 in Landstuhl, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany.
He is preceded in death by his brother Marc McIlwain, grandfather Robert Musser, grandmother Peggy McIlwain and great-grandmother Leda Musser.
Left to cherish his memory are his beautiful children, Baylee McIlwain, Halynn McIlwain, and Wyatt McIlwain, his parents Donald and Sherry McIlwain, his brother Cody McIlwain and wife Jodee, his nephew Kayden McIlwain, his grandfather Wally McIlwain, and his children's mothers, Heather Scott and Cara Long. Also, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
One highlight of Alan's life was when he worked as an outside sales representative. Alan was a people person. When you first met Alan, it's like you had known him forever. Another love of Alan's was LSU and the New Orleans Saints. During football season, you could always find him in front of the TV or at a game cheering on his teams. But first and foremost, his entire world was his children. There wasn't anything Alan wouldn't have done to put a smile on their faces. He loved to joke around with them and play their favorite games. He was their "Daddy", "Defender", and most of all, their "Hero".
"Hey guess what?" --- "You love me?" –-- "I do!!"
"There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love."
