IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alan Temple
De Arman Sr.
September 4, 1961 – June 9, 2025
Alan Temple De Arman, Sr. was born September 4, 1961, in Shreveport, LA, and passed away June 9, 2025, in Houston, TX, following a brief illness.
Alan loved his children, grandchildren and his canine buddy Elmo, and his favorite pastimes were fishing, reading, traveling and playing XBOX. He was also particular about how his last name was pronounced – De Arman, not Dearman. He served in the US Army and National Guard as a psychiatric specialist. He worked for the City of Shreveport for 14 years as a water and sewer inspector and drove big rig trucks across the country.
He is survived by his wife, Vicky De Arman; son, Kevin De Arman and daughter-in- law, Alisha Parsons; daughter, Kathleen De Arman; son, Alan De Arman, Jr. and Britney McDonald; brother, William Davison; father, Charles De Arman; father-in-law, Cecil E. Miller, Sr.; step mother-in-law, Sharon Crotteau; brother-in-law, Cecil E Miller Jr.; and grandchildren, Charles Chandler, Mia Chandler, Aedan De Arman, Ivy Coleman, Christopher De Arman, Meara McDonald and Robin Alexander Hood. He is also survived by his best friend and canine companion, Elmo.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Davison; stepfather, William Davison; aunt, Jane Wilder; and sister, Tracy Davison.
Alan always displayed a servant's heart and was dedicated to helping anyone he could, in any way he could. He will be missed greatly.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Roy's Kids, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping children of single-parent households with limited income. Their mission is to provide these children with Christmas gifts, backpacks, back-to-school supplies and items necessary for them to survive. Donations can be made by Venmo to @Royskids2601, or mailed to Roy's Kids, 2601 Highland Ave, Shreveport, LA 71104.
The family also would like to thank the Veterans Affairs transplant team in Houston for their dedication and hard work in saving lives through organ transplant.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery, 7970 Mike Clark Road, Keithville, Louisiana, 71047.
