Dell Flynn, 96, of Shreveport, passed away Wednesday May 25, 2022, at her home. She was born October 9, 1925, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Abney D. and Della (Donaldson) Scanland.

Dell loved cooking and collecting recipes. She also loved to fish when she was younger. Her grandfather, William Henry Scanland was an orphan at age 17, but on July 1, 1859, managed to start the Bossier Banner Progress Newspaper at that young age. This paper would later be continued by her father, Abney Downs Scanland, and would eventually become the Bossier Press Tribune as we know it today.

Mrs. Flynn was preceded in death by her husband Homer Flynn Jr., her parents, and a daughter, Amy Flynn.

Left to treasure her memory are three children, Homer Flynn III, Kevin Flynn, and Christy Flynn.

A visitation will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Aulds Funeral Home, 7849 East Kings Hwy, Shreveport, LA 71115. Graveside services will be held the same day at 1:00 pm at the Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Ave Shreveport, LA 71103. Bro. Joey Ketchum will officiate the service.
